Hi Everyone,
I was watching a YouTube video where the host suggested doing a "ramen walk."
Ramen may have around 500 kcal, but if you walk for an hour and then eat ramen, you'll burn 500 kcal and eat 500 kcal.
It sounds fun to walk with the thought of eating ramen at your destination!
I might give it a try—walking from Shibuya to Shinjuku, with a good ramen shop in mind.
A healthy way to spend a holiday.
Speaking of ramen, in Japan, it's one of the foods you can eat noisily without issue.
Maybe one of the very few exceptions, along with soba.
It reminds me of a novel I read:
"There was a couple on a date at an Italian restaurant in Tokyo. The mood was perfect.
They seemed to enjoy their meals and conversation, smiling and looking happy, with a promising future ahead of them.
...until the pasta arrived.
The guy ate his pasta with a huge slurping noise. The waiter froze, the couple at the next table froze, the sommelier froze, and the girl he was with...
well, and their happy future vanished."
I often hear that slurping pasta is something Japanese girls dislike and that it can ruin a romantic relationship.
He probably should have chosen a ramen date instead!
Thank you for reading!
Toshiya
